Getting ready for the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair

This year I will be showcasing some of my work in the Manchester Craft & Design Centre stand at GNCCF. If you have never visited before; it's a lovely show featuring some beautiful craft and takes place 8-11th October at Old Granada Studios. I'm looking forward to it! This year with none of the stress of having my own stand and all of the joy of getting to visit and participate with my fellow MCDC buddies. Our stand is being curated by ceramist & creative visionary Linzi Ramsden & Kaylee Jenkinson, MCDC's very awesome exhibition coordinator. It's going to be ace.

Emilio the Toco Toucan is looking forward to his appearance at GNCCF :)

I have just finished a brand new piece: Gunnar the cockatiel, in his steel & wooden birdcage, which I assembled this afternoon:

A close up of his cheeky face:

More cockatiels will soon be perched in the studio. I have printed Lutino, Pied & Cinnamon varieties, so Gunnar will have plenty of buddies when he returns, if he doesn't woo somebody into purchasing him at GNCCF!

There are 17 MCDC makers taking part in the stand and we're all making special things to exhibit. My studio buddy Suzanne of Devine's Design is making one of her designs in a lovely grey shade called 'Ghost', which you can spy on her instagram:

My neighbour Helen Tiffany is perfecting a beautiful screen printing technique for a new range of vessels. Here is an in-progress shot from her twitter feed:

My neighbour Ella from THIS IS PEWTER is working on some gorgeous textured spoons:

Aren't they lovely?

Julia of Wonderhaus is showcasing some jewellery from her Little Wonders range, which includes a giant crab claw cast silver necklace! It's beautiful.

Jared the Banksian Cockatoo will also be on the stand.

Best of luck to everybody preparing their stands! I can't wait to see them! :)
