About
My name is Kate and I make unique paper sculptures.
The models are my own design, which start off as doodles and once I've worked out the maths with my ruler and protractor, I create original, one of a kind screenprints, which I build into models. They are then varnished, which gives the sculptures a lovely satin sheen and also seals their edges and protects them against harsh sunlight.
All of my sculptures are made with strong and sturdy recycled cardstock. Their design gives them structural strength and durability.
I have an open studio at Manchester Craft and Design Centre, which you are very welcome to visit in Manchester's Northern Quarter 10-5.30 Monday-Saturday every week.

Manchester Craft and Design Centre is a lovely community of around 30 resident makers in 18 unique studios inside a characterful Victorian building. I am surrounded by many lovely and super talented makers. I also have two splendid studio buddies, who help me keep shop: Suzanne Devine and Julia Roy Williams of Wonderhaus.
I participate in exhibitions in various lovely Galleries throughout the UK (a list will be available soon). I also sell online on Etsy and Giftwrapped & Gorgeous.
Some of my favourite commissions have been when I am asked to depict a family in owl form. It is so much fun to do! I am happy to discuss commissions; either alterations of current designs or something completely new. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss something.
